Hampden-Sydney College is located in Southside Virginia between Tidewater, the Blue Ridge Mountains, and the James River. The historic 1340-acre campus lies five miles south of historic Farmville, the county seat of Prince Edward County and home to Longwood University. It is approximately 60 miles southwest of Richmond, 50 miles due east of Lynchburg, and 60 miles southeast of Charlottesville.

Hampden-Sydney College celebrated Founders Day on Monday, November 10, with Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin serving as keynote speaker at an event a quarter of a millennium in the making.

Three Hampden-Sydney College professors have been honored by the Virginia Foundation for Independent Colleges (VFIC) with the 2025 Harris Family Faculty Awards making H-SC the first member college to have faculty members recognized with each of the three awards in a single awards cycle.
H-SC Receives Transformative Investment

Hampden-Sydney College is excited to announce an investment of over $50 million from Rob and Cindy Citrone to establish the Citrone Scholars Program, which will award four-year, full-tuition merit scholarships to talented prospective students.
