Held at the Governor's Executive Mansion on October 25th, the annual awards program spotlights the outstanding efforts of individual volunteers and organizations that have aided our communities, Virginians, and the Commonwealth. Stimpson was awarded the Outstanding Young Adult Volunteer Award for his work on Cares for Kids Taking Flight Bike Program for the last three years. For the program, he helped raise money to buy and present new bikes and helmets to deserving middle school students of Cumberland County for their positive behavior and hard work.
The Governor’s Volunteerism and Community Service Awards are presented by the Governor’s Advisory Board on Service and Virginia Service Foundation on behalf of the Office of the Governor. These awards have recognized exceptional volunteer service in Virginia for almost 30 years.
