Please be advised that over the course of the summer, the Virginia Department of Transportation will be working to construct a new roundabout at the intersection of Kingsville Road (Route 133) and Route 15, which necessitates the closure of one of the primary routes entering campus. We anticipate the road reopening no later than August 10.
To help visitors navigate their way to campus, we have provided directions from various locations below. VDOT and Prince Edward County have also posted detour signage to aid in navigation.
Directions:
Eastbound (Roanoke, Lynchburg, Knoxville):
- Follow US-460 East toward Farmville for approx. 39 miles
- Turn right onto Five Forks Road
- Follow Five Forks Road to the end
- Turn right onto College Road and enter the Hampden-Sydney campus
Southbound or Westbound (Richmond, Virginia Beach, DC, Baltimore):
- Follow US-460 West toward Farmville
- Take US-460 BUS Exit toward Farmville
- Turn left onto Route 15 toward Keysville
- Take a right turn at the first intersection onto Commerce Road (Route 628)
- Follow Commerce Road to the end
- Take a left turn onto Germantown Road (Route 642)
- Take another left turn onto Back Hampden-Sydney Road (Route 643)
Northbound (Raleigh, Charlotte, Charleston):
- Follow Route 15 North toward Farmville
- Turn left onto Abilene Road at Worsham
- Follow Abilene Road for 2 miles
- Turn right at Mercy Seat Baptist Church onto Route 133
- Follow Route 133 to the Hampden-Sydney campus
