A graduate of H-SC, Dr. Hargadon earned his Doctorate in Microbiology at the University of Virginia in 2007 after completing graduate studies in the laboratory of Victor H. Engelhard, PhD.

On September 1, the UVA Medical Alumni Association announced that Hampden-Sydney College Trinkle Professor of Biology, Kristian M. Hargadon '01, was awarded the 2023 Early Achievement Award in Biomedical Sciences.
