Hampden-Sydney College has been named to The Princeton Review’s list of Best 390 Colleges for 2025 and made the top 10 in 10 categories.

Based entirely on surveys of 168,000 students attending the 390 colleges, the publication includes 50 ranked lists in categories such as academics, amenities, campus services, and extracurriculars, each comprising the top 25 colleges of those included in the book.

Hampden-Sydney made the top 10 in 10 categories, including:

Most Active Student Government #1
Best College Library #2
Most Politically Active Students #3
Top 20 Best Schools for Internships (Private) #3
Top 20 Best Alumni Networks (Private) #3
Friendliest Students #5
Best Career Services #7

The College also made the top 20 in eight additional categories, including Happiest Students (#15), Lots of Race/Class Interaction (#13), Best College Newspaper (#18), Students Love These Colleges (#13), and Most Engaged in Community Service (#18).

Hampden-Sydney is a recurring standout in categories such as Best Career Services (up five spots from 2024), Lots of Race/Class Interaction (up six spots from 2024), and Friendliest Students (up one spot from 2024). Earlier this year, Hampden-Sydney was one of only four schools in Virginia to make The Princeton Review Best Value Colleges list.
