Hampden-Sydney Poetry Review
No. 48, Winter 2023
This year's issue of the magazine is monstrous. OK, well, not really, but it has a monster on the cover. And the poems, like all poems, engage with monstrous things, like the dissolution of relationships, an unpredictable and changing climate, grief, loss, the receding horizon of things making sense. The poems, though, are also beautiful in their way, like the innocence which also lurks beneath Michael Zigmond's cover image.
