The grant, which will be applied over the next two years starting in May 2021, will support the Compass program in several important ways. In addition to funding faculty and staff members as they attend training workshops to implement and support experiential learning courses, the grant will support annual campus-wide reflection events that bring together students, faculty, staff, and experiential learning practitioners to exchange ideas and discuss ways to improve the ways in which these courses are taught.
In addition, a group of faculty members will utilize this funding to develop a collection of courses specifically designed to accompany students’ internships and help the students reflect on the impact of those experiences for their broader career and life goals.
